Texas Shine Doodles offer standard and medium Goldendoodles. This is a make-up of close to 75% poodle and 25% golden retriever. This combination creates a low to non-shedding coat. This is a great option for people with allergies! For our standard Goldendoodles means females will be around (50-60lbs.) males (55-70lbs.) Our medium Goldendoodles females range from approximately (25-40lbs) and our males are (35-50lbs)

Goldendoodles are great working dogs that have been more than successful as guide dogs, service dogs, emotional support dogs, and therapy dogs.

Personality
The positive personality traits are numerous — they are generally happy in nature, and actively enjoy socializing with others. (As long as they have had the proper love, care, and training.) Doodles are known for being highly obedient, they are easy to train too!

They are highly affectionate, gentle, and patient, which makes them a wonderful family addition.
Exercise
Doodles need about at least 30 minutes a day of exercise. This can range from daily walks, playing fetch, or visiting dog parks.
​
They also need 20 minutes of mental stimulation. Because they are so intelligent, they need a new change of pace to keep them entertained and happy. Switching out new toys is a great way to keep them engaged.
​
Training is an excellent way to provide mental and physical stimulation. No matter how old your doodle is, there's always something new to learn.
Grooming
Goldendoodles, because of their naturally curly coat, need to be brushed daily to avoid getting matts in their hair. They normally require a high amount of grooming.

This specific breed's coat needs bi-monthly trips to the groomers for a good cut, wash, and fluff. A visit to your local groomer can cost from $80 - $130.

Doodles also need their teeth brushed weekly. We recommend using dental sticks to help get rid of doggie breath.

Food
Goldendoodles are a sensitive stomach breed, so they require specific high quality dog food. It is also highly recommended to stay away from poultry, because they can develop a rash from having an allergic reaction. Since they require such high quality food for their breed, this can cost $40-$60 per bag.

An adult doodle will have two meals a day. But a puppy under 6 months will require 3 small meals. As they grow, they typically will graze throughout the day.

Male vs Female
Males can be high energy and need regular exercise with an active family. They also need more structure and training to be the best family dog they can be.
​
Females can be more loving, but also have a more dominate personality due to their poodle side. They can be extremely smart and require a bit more mental exercise to keep them entertained.
